Spring brings new growth and creativity at The Hive with HIPPY families

16 October 2024

Spring has arrived, and The Hive at Braeside Park is buzzing with activity as it prepares for a bountiful summer harvest. Recently, The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) students and their families joined us for a special day of fun, creativity, and connection with nature.

The event was filled with engaging activities for the children, including painting terracotta pots, decorating colourful rocks, and participating in a lively scavenger hunt alongside local seniors. These activities not only sparked the kids’ creativity but also created opportunities for intergenerational bonding, bringing together young families and seniors from the community in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

With smiles all around, participants took home their handmade creations, brightening their homes and gardens with a touch of spring. The day was a reminder of the importance of community connection and learning together—values at the heart of The Hive and the HIPPY program.

As we look forward to the warmer months, The Hive remains a place where families, seniors, and community members come together to grow, learn, and celebrate the beauty of each season. We can’t wait to see how our garden and community continue to flourish!
