Social Support Groups

SMRC Social Support Groups offer opportunities for social interaction to people from a culturally and linguistically diverse background who are living at home.

 

Participants are encouraged and supported to live a healthy lifestyle through physical activity, nutrition education and developing emotional wellbeing through friendships and social contact.

Activities within the Social Support Groups Program include:

  • relaxing chair-based exercises
  • arts and crafts
  • interactive games
  • music activities
  • tabletop games to suit individual interests
  • information sessions and monthly outings.

Activities range from centre-based programs to outings and are offered Monday to Friday.

  • Chinese
  • Vietnamese
  • Wednesday men’s group
  • Multicultural groups

This program is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.

Home Care Package clients are eligible to use any services required under their package plan if available. Please contact your case manager to refer you onto on of SMRC’s helpful staff.
