Support migrants and refugees to achieve their goals and aspirations
Help migrants and refugees build safe, secure, healthy and independent lives in Australia
Established by migrants and refugees unable to obtain the support needed from mainstream services, the Southern Migrant & Refugee Centre (SMRC) has delivered services to communities in Melbourne’s southeast for the past 30 years.
SMRC currently delivers 31 funded programs offering migrant and refugee support services in 15 locations across five municipalities in southeast Melbourne.
Your donation will help people to improve their English, create important social connections, access employment, and get schooling support.

Why donate?
-

When Zohra arrived in Australia with her family just 11 months ago, she was excited by the possibilities that lay ahead. -
To make the dreams of women like Mina come true.
Mina’s story is one of courage, hope, and the pursuit of a dream that many would take for granted: learning to drive. -
To connect young people like Arzo.
Moving to Australia in her final year of high school, Arzo realised she needed support to navigate daily life and achieve her dreams. -
To inspire independence in women like Qudsia.
Despite a lack of formal education, Qudsia persevered in Australia to learn English and build newfound independence. -
To grow hope for carers like Shamalie.
Shamalie turned to SMRC in her toughest moments, finding peace, support, and a community that helped her thrive as a carer.
