A joyful celebration at SMRC’s Seniors & Carers Lunch 2025

1 November 2025

Celebrating the contributions of Seniors and Carers

SMRC’s Diverse Care team proudly hosted the Seniors & Carers Lunch 2025, welcoming more than 70 seniors and carers for an afternoon dedicated to connection, appreciation and community wellbeing. The annual celebration continues to be one of SMRC’s most treasured events, offering a meaningful opportunity to recognise the vital role that seniors and carers play in shaping and supporting our communities.

This year’s event created a warm, joyful atmosphere where guests felt supported, valued and uplifted. The team organised entertainment, catering and lively activities to ensure the event was inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.

A day of joy, connection and cultural warmth

The room quickly filled with energy and laughter as guests took part in dancing, singing and lively conversations. Many reconnected with friends they had not seen for some time, while others made new connections across cultures and generations. The shared meal was a highlight, offering not only delicious food but also a moment for guests to relax and enjoy each other’s company in a welcoming, community-focused environment.

Beyond the celebrations, the event served as an important reminder of the challenges seniors and carers often navigate and the strength and resilience they bring to their roles. By creating spaces like this lunch, SMRC continues to champion social connection, mental wellbeing and holistic support for multicultural communities.

SMRC extends sincere thanks to every senior and carer who joined the celebration, and to the dedicated teams whose planning and hard work brought the event to life. The success of the Seniors & Carers Lunch reflects SMRC’s commitment to fostering belonging, strengthening wellbeing and honouring the contributions of all who are part of our diverse community.
