The Southern Migrant and Refugee’s Unity in Diversity Festival was a resounding success as a celebration of our multicultural community in Melbourne’s southeast.

More than 60 dedicated carers joined us in Dandenong to celebrate and acknowledge the unpaid caring role that they do every day.

Financial Counselling Victoria’s (FCVic) Festival of Ideas in June was a celebration of SMRC’s prior work with FCVic in taking part in the Standing Strong Project.

The SMRC Dari and Persian speaking men’s group, Chay Khana was privileged to be visited by Federal Member for Bruce, Mr Julian Hill MP in early June. Julian was very generous with his time and after grabbing a cup of chai tea, sat down with the men to discuss the issues impacting them and their families.
