From Dream to Drive

In this interview, Jess, speaks with Vimonh, a dedicated member of the Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre (SMRC) team, who shares her journey from once dreaming of driving the SMRC bus to becoming an essential part of the community she serves.

Over her four years with SMRC, Vimonh has found deep meaning in connecting with clients, many who have come from diverse cultural backgrounds and with unique stories of their own.

Vimonh shares firsthand the power of connection, helping elderly clients step out of isolation and into supportive spaces, where they feel seen and valued.

She reflects on the pride she feels displaying the SMRC logo when transporting clients, and the importance of continuing this work.

This conversation captures the heart of SMRC and what diversity truly means!

“Everyone comes from different countries and cultures, but here we come together. That’s what makes it special.”
