Family Support Program

SMRC’s family support program offers intensive assistance to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) families facing challenges in parent-child relationships.

About the Family Support Program

Over a period of three to six months, our program connects families to community supports, including:

  • Casework: Personalized assistance to address specific family needs
  • Parenting support: Guidance on effective parenting strategies in the Australian context
  • Support referrals: Linking families to relevant community services
  • Advocacy: Assisting families in accessing necessary resources and services

Our goal is to equip families with practical skills to enhance communication and strengthen interpersonal connections.

Program process

  1. Initial contact: A family support worker will reach out to arrange a meeting at your home or our office.
  2. Assessment: We conduct a comprehensive evaluation to understand your family’s needs.
  3. Personalized plan: Together, we develop a tailored plan to support your family’s well-being.

Please note: This program does not assist with housing issues. For housing-related support, please contact VT Uniting at (03) 9705 3939.
