Access Point & Settlement Casework
The Access Point & Settlement Casework Program provides culturally appropriate, experienced, and one-on-one in-language support to navigate social services and the supports they provide.
The Access Point & Settlement Casework Program is a drop-in casework service for individuals who are eligible for Settlement Engagement Transition Support.
Caseworkers can assist with:
- the completion of forms
- information provision
- advocacy regarding bills and housing
- navigation of Services Australia, Centrelink, and other social services
- support liaising with and referral onto other agencies via appointment.
The Program supports the wellbeing of newly arrived families and individuals to successfully settle into their new home country. An up-to-date list of eligible visa subclasses can be found here: Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) program eligibility
Our program specialises in working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. The SMRC Access Point & Settlement Casework Program operates Monday to Friday 10.00 am to 4.00pm and by appointment. Clients are able to self-refer. If our caseworkers do not speak your language, an interpreter will be provided.
The Access Point & Settlement Casework Program is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Social Services under the Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) Program.
