Seniors Week celebration 2024

15 October 2024

SMRC recently hosted a wonderful celebration for Seniors Week at Walawwa the Bungalow, a charming restaurant on Princes Highway. The event brought together around 130 community members, who enjoyed an afternoon filled with fun, laughter, and entertainment.

The day kicked off with live music from the talented Joey Santos, which set the perfect mood for the festivities. A highlight of the event was seeing many guests take to the dance floor, moving to the lively tunes and truly embracing the joy of the day. The entertainment continued with a captivating magic show that left everyone amazed.

Generous sponsors contributed to the success of the day, providing a range of prizes that were eagerly anticipated by attendees. We are incredibly grateful to Myuna Farm, Dandenong RSL, Ultra Tune Dandenong, Estia Health, The Indoor Plant Co, and Seniors Style for their generous support. Prizes included spot prizes, lucky chair prizes, and raffle tickets, creating an exciting atmosphere with lots of winners.

Our dedicated SMRC staff were on hand throughout the event, assisting clients and ensuring everyone felt comfortable and supported. Their efforts helped to create a warm and welcoming environment for all.

Heartwarming moments with the community

The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their appreciation for such a well-organized and enjoyable celebration. SMRC is proud to have provided a space for our seniors to come together, socialise, and create lasting memories.

This celebration truly embodied our commitment to fostering a sense of community and inclusion among older adults. We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future, continuing to celebrate the vibrancy and contributions of our seniors.
