Julian Hill MP visits Chay Khana Men’s Group

The SMRC Dari and Persian speaking men’s group, Chay Khana received a visit from Federal Member for Bruce, Mr Julian Hill MP in early June. Julian was very generous with his time and after grabbing a cup of chai tea, sat down with the men to discuss the issues impacting themselves and their families. The members showed Julian a traditional game of Carrom and Chay Khana facilitator and artist Mirwais presented Julian with a painting. The painting featured Julian’s name written in Persian calligraphy in celebration of Julian’s recent birthday. It was an illuminating and meaningful visit for the group to have a member of Federal parliament take the time to listen to their stories and respond to their concerns.
