SMRC committee member receives Order of Australia Medal

Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre (SMRC) proudly congratulates Finance, Audit and Risk Management (FARM) Committee member Mr Selliah Nalliah OAM on receiving the Order of Australia Medal (OAM), one of Australia’s highest national honours.
Mr Nalliah received the medal during the Order of Australia Investiture Ceremony held on 7 May 2026 at Government House Victoria. The honour was presented by Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria.
Established in 1975, the Order of Australia recognises Australians who have demonstrated outstanding achievement or exceptional service. The Order of Australia Medal (OAM) is awarded to individuals whose contributions have made a significant and lasting difference to their communities and to the nation.
Mr Nalliah’s award reflects his longstanding commitment to community service and leadership. At SMRC, he is a member of the Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee, where he supports strong governance and financial oversight.
SMRC extends its sincere congratulations to Mr Nalliah and thanks him for his ongoing contribution to the organisation and the communities he serves.
