Southern Migrant & Refugee Centre is thrilled to announce the Commonwealth has advised that SMRC has been selected as a preferred provider for the Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) – Client Services from 1 Jan 2019 – 30 June 2022.
The objective of SETS-Client Services is to equip humanitarian entrants and other vulnerable migrants in their first five years in Australia with the knowledge and skills to identify, understand and take action to address their identified settlement needs.
‘SMRC’s success can be attributed to our innovative goal directed approach and focus on client outcomes to empowerment and inclusion, which echoes our organisation vision and is a reflection of our values – empowerment, resilience, respect, diversity, integrity, inclusion’, said Mr Ramesh Kumar, SMRC CEO.
SMRC has identified that early intervention and focusing on addressing the gaps will ensure smoother and more successful settlement.
‘We have developed an innovative Life Skills assessment to help guide our clients to all the necessary services and support they need for successful settlement outcomes, whilst drawing on a person’s strengths to co-produce attainable goals which helps to link them to relevant services and supports’ said Mr Kumar.
SMRC’s positive impact capabilities using advance technology, specialised casework, extensive community networks and experience in innovative service modelling built over 25 years in the region, where key factors in our success.
