Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre is thrilled to begin a full calendar year of events with an exciting OPEN DAY to be held on Wednesday, 13th February.
Following on from our hugely successful event in 2018, SMRC CEO, Ramesh Kumar, says “our OPEN DAY 2019 will be celebrating the power of diversity in employment”.
OPEN DAY 2019 will be held on Wednesday, 13th February and feature a local hero, Baryalai Rahimi, speaking about his personal journey to economic independence through employment. There will also be panel experts to discuss from their perceptive the importance of diversity in employment including: President of Dandenong Chambers of Commerce, Paul Broom, Employment Sector expert, Alma Besserdin, Founder and Director, Wimmigrants and HR Manager Val Renton from Amazon.
OPEN DAY 2019 is open to the community to attend from 3pm until 6pm. Attendees can engage in Q&A session with employment experts, meet with SMRC staff and participate in workshops that showcase key services available at the organisation such as:
- Settlement services
- Community Engagement through social clubs
- Pathways to further education & employment
- Social connections in the Learning Space
- Carer support & aged care services
Meander the pop up information booths from supporters including Hesta Super Fund, Jobs Training Institute and Australian Taxation Office plus SMRC services including HIPPY, Youth STAR Hub, LIFE! Program, Diverse Care, ACFE and Dandy Makers Market.
This is a FREE event that the local community is encouraged to attend. A light supper will be provided.
