Homework Support Program

Our Homework Support Program (STAR Club) aims to support secondary school student and TAFE students to remain engaged at school by aiding with homework, careers advice, resume building, university and TAFE applications, social work support and encouraging students to maintain a healthy school/life balance. Our volunteer tutors provide guidance with study skills, time management, and expert knowledge across all high school subjects.

The STAR Club is part of our Settlement Program, which aims to increase capacity, connection and participation in the community and also provides services to humanitarian entrants, and other migrants on eligible visas within their first 5 years of settlement in Australia.

STAR Club activities are free to participate, and take place 3 afternoons per week, taking place at 3.45 – 5.45pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during school terms.

Our volunteer tutors have a police check and a Working with Children check, and receive on-going training opportunities and support. This program is funded through Department of Social Services through the Settlement, Engagement and Transition Support program
