Australia is one of the most culturally diverse nations in the world.

People from Cultural and Linguistic Diverse CALD backgrounds are a significant and growing proportion of the Australian population aged over 65. By 2021, at least 30% of Australia’s older population will come from a CALD background.

A social enterprise of SMRC, Diverse Care™ is a multicultural labour hire service for approved providers of Aged Care across southern and eastern Melbourne. Diverse Care, whilst not an NDIS provider, can still provide services to NDIS clients.

Diverse Care has been delivering services to our aged and disabled clients for over 25 years. Our workforce consist of 130 plus bilingual staff with more than 50 languages.

The key benefit of having a bilingual worker is that older people and their families greatly value having care workers who speak their language and understand their cultural sensitivities.

Our multilingual workers Diverse Care™ workers are all qualified with a minimum of Cert III in Aged Care, Certificate in Individual Support or HACC.

Employment – Casual Care assistant roles:

We are looking for in-home Care Workers qualified in Aged Care, who are bilingual, to join our Diverse Care team. Languages in high demand at present include Greek, Italian, Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian, Dari, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Arabic and Cantonese.

Restricted staff shifts

As at 30th July

  • To contain cross contamination from high risk areas, some Diverse Care workers have now been restricted from working shifts if they are also working in nursing homes/retirement village/hospitals.
  • All staff must call in prior to their daily shift to confirm they are fit for work.
